anybody have any load recipes for a rem 260. I have some imr 4350 powder and some H4350 powder also. I've got a box of 123 grain sierra matchking bullets that are supposed to be here tommorrow. any of you guys load for a 260 rem using this combination and where would be a good place to start. looking maybe at starting at 43 grains of powder and going up .5 grain increments. any suggestions? thanks.

I had pretty good luck with 120 smk's and 45gr of H4350.

I cant imagine they are much different. But always work up loads.

hey seanhaggerty, is that 700 yards? If it is that is pretty dang good shooting. where would you start with the 123 grains? thanks.

TY, I would do as you said, start at 43gr and work up, but I would use 0.3gr increments. Also, look at OCW load development and try that method.

44.1 gr. H4350, 123 SMK works great for me on my 28", 8 twist Criterion. I don't have my data in front of me so I don't remember the OAL, but it is seated .005" off the lands.

I have the same experience with seating depth as rdog. Close to or at the lands and you get accuracy.

Hey seanhaggerty or rdog52, you say 005. off the lands is a good place to start. i don't have any guages or any of the tools you can buy to do this but have seen where you can do it with just a case and bullet. do you guys know how to do this and can you explain it to me? I don't know where my bullet is compared to the lands. Just started reloading and am wanting to experiment with seating bullet just off the lands. If this helps I'm shooting 123 grain matchkings. the gun is chambered in 260 rem with a shilen 26 inch select match barrel in varmint contour. thanks guys.
