Savage 99 extraction probs

Hi,

I have a friend that has a model 99 Savage that is having extraction problems. He is coming over tomorrow and bringing his gun to show me.. What could be some of the possibilities of this problem? He says it doesn't do it all the time but enough to be a concern.. I was wondering maybe a weak extractor spring? A burr in the chamber? What are your thoughts? Oh also he said he is shooting mild loads..

Id check fired cases for chamber marking such as chamber rust. You could try a dental mirror to examine chamber also.
