Hi I'm new to this forum and so far I think it's an awesome place to learn as a newbie to rifles as myself. (currently bow and shotgun hunter). I just picked up a 111 and would like to get scope/ rings/mount info .... so far what I've read is that the 111 is a little tricky to find the right combo due to the extra long action. I was hoping to get some input to see what others are using out there..... thanks in advance

Welcome, a 270 win a man after my own heart, weaver has some mounts that help with shorter scope lengths, I will try to find the part numbers, or maybe someone will chime in.

Thanks for the reply dude... I can't wait to set this badboy up and make some noise... I've never shot big game with a gun before( only bow) ... this fall I'd like to try this rifle out as I've just got permission to hunt a friends property that offers a rifle season

the .270 Win will flatten most any deer I've seen. I have killed 4 wall-hangers with 4 shots from mine. To say I love the .270 would be an understatement.

I have a long range varmint load for you, Barnes makes an 85gr bullet, that with 64gr of RL17 is good for 4000 FPS, that load goes forever without dropping, I am getting my 270 Weatherby next month, I already have those same bullets loaded up, only with 75gr of RL17 they should be close to 4400 FPS can't wait.
