New trophy yes its laminated

last week a few buddies and I went to the range and I took with me my 12 LRP in 6.5 Creedmoor. The following picture is a group I shot out of that gun @ 100 yards with Hornady factory match ammo. 140 gr A max 41.5 grns of H4350.

that group there is a 20 round group. FULL box of factory ammo. needless to say this is my greatest " trophy"

This is what my rifle looks like now the stock was bedded with JB weld. Outside of that nothing else has been don to this rifle.

Outdamstanding! The first Creedmoor I had with a Criterion barrel shot a 10 shot group just a bit larger than yours with the same ammunition. Could not find a compelling reason to reload, except for expense, with anything other than the the load printed on the box.

How does that work. I know, or believe there is a relationship between Hornady and Hogdon but is it definitive that the powder is H4350?

According to Stocky's that stock is available for Savage action only as a 'blind magazine' model. Did you do the blind mag conversion recommended by Stocky's?

No I didn't I ordered a single shot follower form midway and converted it over to a single shot only rifle.

Hornady is publishing the load for that specific cartridge because it's their design. I believe they're approaching it like an open source OS (i.e. how android is to the cellphone market). The theory being if you publish the details of a very successful factory load that folks can duplicate at home, you'll have more people inclined to buy rifles chambered in it, thus driving increased demand for rifles/ammo chambered to your spec.

I think it's one of the better attempts I've seen from a non-firearms manufacturing company to drive the adoption of a new round. Although doubtful, I wish more companies would follow suit and post the details of their factory loads (assuming the powders used are obtainable by the average Joe). It sure would help reloaders make decisions when it comes to buying powders/bullets/primers for a new cartridge. :)
