Interesting gun. A .22Mag would be way better all the way around. Maybe Savage will see this. I have a CZ452 in .22Mag that I'd bet against this gun all day long out to 300yds. Yes, 300yds.

wouldn't the HMR be more safe than a 22 as for as ricochet when tree rat hunting ? That is the only reason I'm even thinking about one. Alot of the places I hunt, small woodlots, where they are houses in the distance I always worry about ricochets. Plus it would be one fun cartridge to shoot too.
