Anyone know if the weather warrior in 300 wsm is long action or short action? On the website it lists the 16/116 fcss as 43.75" long (detachable mag) and the 16/116 fhss as 41.75" long (hinged floorplate) both have 24" barrels. Thanks

All factory made WSM's are Short Actions. Most all WSM's are also Large Shank, FYI. I think maybe a few of the very early produced WSM's from Savage could have been small shank.

As for the different listed lengths, all I can think of is typo, or slightly different length of pull perhaps.

what has the longest mag for seating bullets furthest out ? the hinged floorplate model or dbm model?

My hinged floorplate model had a 2.970 OAL, but all but the early ones should have just about the same OAL.

It's not uncommon for the spec's to be wrong on Savage's website. They use a template as the base for all the different model changes and it's not unusual for them to forget to change something from one model to the next and/or forget to change a spec from one year to the next. It's called the human error factor.

yup, depends on the bullet of course, the only one that I havent gotten to touch the lands was the 208 AMAX, but its not off by much.
