Spent a little time at the range today with the Axis .22-250. I have been shooting the 53 grain Vmax in it with pretty good results but I decided to see how it would do with a little heavier bullet. Loaded up some 69 grain Sierra Match kings with 35 & 35.5 grains of Reloader 17 to see what it would do. The 35 grain load printed about an inch at 100 yards and the 35.5 grain load is a nail driver. Range conditions were pretty bad with switchy winds from 10-20 mph blowing from my 5 o'clock to my 11 o'clock with a little mist of rain mixed in. This is a five shot group at 100 yards.

Nice to see someone shoot a 5 round group. I see alot of 3 round groups here. I'll be taking my .243 to the range for the first time tomorrow. My Savage 110 would shoot 1 inch groups using Remington 100 grn. Core Lokt. We will see how the Axis shoots. I don't reload, so factory ammo is all I'll have. I've been shooting a .50 Flintlock for the last 6 years.

I just feel 5 gives me a better idea of what the rifle and load is doing.

I shoot five shot groups for all my small bore stuff, but anything 338 and larger I usually shoot three shot groups.

Good shooting, even with the flier it woudl still be a nice group :)
