I'm intersted also as have Federal nickel brass also and am ready to start resizing them, have seen different post on different web sites with pro and con on their use.

I have fire formed some R-P 280 Rem to 280AI and had no problem at all. That has been my only experience but it was a good one.

I have some Rem Nickel 22-250 that I want to form to AI. I wasn't sure if it would crack the plating since nickel doesn't flow as well as brass does.

Have done a few to have shiney AI display cartridges. Seemed to go well. Have a .223 die with scratches also from normal use. Only takes one bad one.

Ouch, I didn't even think about the die. :(

For what AI dies cost, I'm going to play it smart and skip forming the Nickel.

FWIW my reloading partner swears that he can get an extra 50-100fps by using nickel, i assume he means that he can push it a bit harder. I don't like the stuff as it's a PITA to trim/deburr, i refuse to let him use my trimmer on it, as I've already had to replace the cutter on my trim pro because of it.

I just don't see the use of it other than the bling factor, previous poster brought up a good point of scratched dies.

the best group i ever fired out a rifle was w/ nickel brass, i felt it kept neck tension better/consistant and didn't spring back once bumped....

never fire formed it, but i do like it.
