short cartridge long action

I have a Stevens 200 internal mag in .270 I am trying to convert to 22-250. I have herd everything from just use the .270 mag, to I need a shim or spacer for it, to I NEED a 22-250 mag. Any help is appreciated.

I have always found that, a short action round in a long action ,feeds a lot smoother.

Short action round on a long action receiver is the way to go. No feeding issues and tons of room for long bullets.

I build everything on long action and have no problems.
