My local gunsmiff has a Savage Target Action in .308 for $499. Is that a fair price? It's never been used. I know Savage's website says $651 but I don't know what the retail is on it or where to check. He said he may give me a better price if I have him do a build for me.

If you are going to get other things done by that gunsmith, I would get it from him even if you could save a couple bucks elsewhere, no matter what kind of business it is, no one wants you to bring your own steak to the restaurant.

PS that's a fair price anyway

Northlander sells them for $505 so that sounds about right

Yeap, and you won't have to pay to have it shipped and transfrered to you by an FFL holder.

good price but keep in mind the target action is a single shot.
get the predator action from northland if you want a magazine.

It's a good price if it's Right Bolt/ Right Port. If it's left bolt or dual port it's a great pricce.
