The Brownells Bolt Handle for Savage is longer than the stock handle, and a bit thinner in the shank. Look it up at Brownells.com (http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/bolt-parts/bolt-charging-handles/savage-tactical-bolt-handle-prod21635.aspx) to see an image.

It goes on easy, and it is kind of pricey - but not as bad as some others and it looks good. At the time that I ordered mine, it was available but most other tactical knobs for the Savage were not.

There's a lot to be said for being available.

The handle works well from the shoulder, or on the bench. It makes it easier to cycle the action, but for me at least, it is not as fast as the standard factory bolt handle.

In the reviews, several complain that the knurling is too sharp. I concur, and used some 320 grit crocus cloth to tone it down a bit. - That fixed the only thing that I was unhappy about.

I'm glad that I gave it a try, and will recommend this bolt handle to fellow Savage shooters who like that kind of thing.

They are cheaper if you order straight from Stockade.

They are good handles, and work very well. I just prefer the look and feel of the SSS better. Wish they were easier to get in LH.
