I have a model 111 long action in a ultimate varmiter stock. I am wondering if the stock could be inletted to accept factory savage DBM? I would be interested in having a detachable mag, but unsure about the stock. I know nothing about what, if any requirements a stock must meet to be able to be inletted for DMB.
Thanks.

I would venture a guess and say pretty sure. But it won't be factory mags. Give Jeff & Pam owners of CDI Precision in Sarasota FL a ring. Jeff should be able tell you right off the bat. Assuming this is nothing smaller than .204 they should be able to help you out. It won't be factory mags it will be AI mags, which will require a new bottom metal with a tactical-like mag release. Love mine!

I have seen the CDI bottom metal, and while its a fine product and would like to have it, it and the mags are just out of my price range right now.

If the stock could be inletted for factory savage bottom metal, why would it not be able to use factory savage detachable mags?
I have the rifle chambered in 6.5x55.

I cut out a boyds laminate thumb hole to fit the dbm on my 111. took some time to get it just rite but in the end I am very happy with it.

I have not heard of this person. Do they own/run/work at a shop somewhere?
