savage Target action with small port

I was looking at one of my Target actions and noticed the ejection port was smaller than the others. I called Jim at Northlanders to ask him about it he said,,,they only come in one port size. I miked the inside of the port at 2.6 inches. im just looking for guidance on this if its some kind of oddball. Thanks for any insight. Please pm for questions

Every target action I have is at 3.4 inches for the port opening. Ive asked some friends I shoot with to do the same and they all have 3.4" openings also. Maybe its a reject ha....

Is the bolt release in the same place as on the other actions? I have two short action rifles, and the one with the bolt release by the trigger guard has a shorter port than the one with the release up above the stock.

They're not 3.4"....they're 3.04". The 2.6" is a 2006 model LRPV.

Scope Eye sent me pretty much the same thing in a PM I gotta say yall know yalls stuff...thank you very much for clearing that up...its a small port for sure I gotta dig that SAUM brass out.....I think Ill put a 223 barrel on it

Didn't know what year mine was but it's a 223 LRPV and has the smaller left port. I Learn something every day on here.
