Thanks! I'm considering one. Can't wait for the review.

I have one, not a bad scope (2.5x-16x), but you are paying for the Bushnell name (and the subdued writing). Wish I had paid the extra hundred-and-some for the Leupold, simply because they have infinitely better customer support in Canada.

I have to chime in that I have 3 Elite 4200's and have never had reason to call for customer service. I HAD two Leupolds, I sold the VX-1 for cheap as it had garbage floating around inside that was visible at high mag from brand new (I disclosed this to the buyer who intended to deal with the warranty work). Considering that and the issues other folks have had, I have no confidence in Leupold and having to call customer service is a failure point for me. The remaining VX-II I have is on an NRA fundraiser package rifle, and is suited for the job. I'll buy more Bushnells, but Leupold is off my list. My FIL has another recent VX-I and it is notably inferior to a recent Nikon Buckmaster (both 3-9x40) which is a crime considering the cost difference.

the leupold/bushnell flame war can go on for ever, and we could add lots of names to the list. i have two leupy's vxIII and mark IV both 4.5-14x50, and i can tell you that mark IV is one damn nice piece of glass. will i buy more, probably not, the 6500 is on my list in the higher power setting. i have the 4200 6-24x50 and for what i paid it is a hell of a scope.

we have a very reasonably priced sightron dealer nearby and i told him if he got one of those new 10-50-?'s in his hand, i needed a phone call....

all that said, the best group i ever shot was out of the tried and trued super snipers....

I must agree with this statement. I have tried a lot of different brands of scopes over the years and a few will never cross my path again but I won't trash them on here.
Now I have found the SWFA brand and hope my quest for good affordable glass is over.I find them to be crystal clear, with very good dependable adjustments that are felt and heard. My next 2 scopes are going to be their variables, a 3-9x42 for my AR, and as soon as they are released the new 4.8-20 for my 112vlp. After that it might be time to upgrade all my scopes starting with the new 6x for my mod.10 243 deer rifle and then going from there.

I have one of the 4.5-30's on my 10 FCP-HS, decent glass, gets a little fuzzy past about 26 power inside of 100 yds. Seems to track well, I crank on the turrets up and down alot adjusting for elevation and it holds its zero well. Below 26x the glass is super, 4.5-20 is excellent, really bright and crisp, even in poor light. I have one of the old mega long 6-24 4200's and while a nice scope, is not on par at all with the 6500 or even the redesigned 4200's. It will be replaced eventually when funds allow, but it has been a very good scope with lots of reliable use.
