I sprang for all the options on my 111.

Boyd's Classic in Forest Camo
Ebony forend tip and grip cap
Laser stippling in pattern #1
Decelerator Recoil Pad (shooting 208 AMAX's)

Almost too pretty to take hunting :-)

Exactly what I was thinking of doing for my 116 but I was thinking of different color stock and checkering option. Glad you posted this so I could get a good look. I am a big Boyd's fan; I have a few now and have never been dissatisfied with anything I have bought from them. And by the way, yours looks VERY nice! I do however wish that they would offer the classic style stock in the JRS pattern again. I like the fluted forearm on the new design but I'm an old style guy and like it better without the flutes. My .35 Whelen wears the JRS and it just looks more "classic".

Rangewolf, a dremel and a mill bit. Probably a couple of hours to whittle all the wood away. Worth it to have a DBM thumb hole.

I forgot about this one. http://www.stockysstocks.com/servlet/the-652/Varmint-Thumbhole-Savage-10/Detail For the price this stock already inlet would be hard to beat. Unless, you can get a deal on used thumbhole.

Boyds classic stock on my early (F0005XX) F series 110. It's .308 LA with a Leupold VXII 3-9 X40 scope on it. The stock is nutmeg laminate with Pachmayr recoil pad, black grip cap, checkering, lazar engraved initials by the bolt handle. Factory trigger with modified tension screw. 2 1/2 lbs and solid as a rock. I LOVE this rifle!!

That is the exact stock I was going to order for a 110 build, checkering pattern and all, only I was thinking of adding the black forend tip also. Looks very nice!

First is my cousin's, a Prairie Hunter in Nutmeg with laser engraving holding a 110 action in 224TTH with a Douglas bbl. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/12/dydyvesa.jpg
Next is my Classic in pepper holding a 110 action in 224TTH and a 24" Douglas bbl. I shot that buck at 615 yds on the first shot.
I bedded both and free float the barrels.

ok, heres my lastest build for deer hunting. I find myself walking a lot during rifle season. several miles a day, sometimes in 6-12" of snow, uphill, big hills too darn it, lol. j/k

anyway, picked up a model 16 6.5 creedmoor and a boyds classic with the checkering, caps, and bedded it with araglass gel.
I've got a set of luepold med rings on it now but I'm going to try a set of lows and see if they will work better.

so far I like it

This is one I got thru Boyds years ago. It's on my old 340 in 222..I ordered it unfinished because it was only around 50,or 60 bucks..It's walnut, but it's cheap walnut.I may stain it a little darker one of these days.I guess it was worth what I payed. The original stock is next to ithttp://i1295.photobucket.com/albums/b625/c433/stockpic005_zps266c6f85.jpg
