I just bought a Mod. 16 Trophy Hunter XP in .308 (package gun).
It's MSRP is $795. (I bought mine for $450).
NOW, this is what I don't understand: According to the Savage Websight, This gun has the exact discription as a Mod. 16 FCSS Weather Warrior in .308 (without the Nicon scope, etc.) but, it has an MSRP of $850.
What gives? Why would the 16 FCSS be $55 more without the add-ons?
Are they the same gun, or am I missing something? OR, is the websight missing something.
Things like this, and tax forms, make me crazy...

Is the release lever for your magazine part of the magazine or part of the bottom metal attached to the stock? If part of the magazine then there is your answer - yours has the Axis style magazine with a plastic bottom plate and likely no separate bottom hardware on the stock as it's molded in. Both features are much cheaper to manufacture compared to their metal counterparts which are found on the 16/116FCSS.

The weather warrior has an accustock as well with a full length alluminum bed and forearm support. $55 well spent IMHO

Go to link and click on accustock on the right side

Thanks for the info, guys. After re-reading, the FCSS does come with an accu-stock.
