Need help with take down and reassembly of Model 25 slide action rifle.

Hi there! I am new to the forum.

I have a barely used Model 25. Shot it yesterday and it functions well. Can someone help me with the proper procedure for taking the gun down so I can clean it? At the moment, the gun is unloaded and the action is open.

Should the gun be cocked before separating the two halves? I had someone show me how to do this 10 years ago, but I have forgotten what to do. Also, at the time, I had a problem getting the gun back together. The person showed me what was wrong. It was something simple though. I wish I had made some notes!

Should seperate easily, the bolt will sometimes fall right out as it just rides on a pin from the action bar.

Putting it back together is just as easy but if I remember right, have the action bar pumped back when you replace the bolt, then put the halves back together and close the action.

I'm just talking from memory right now but if that doesn't work let me know and I'll pull my 25 out of the safe and take it down again.

I just tore down my 25 for grins, it's actually easier to put it back together with the slide closed.
