Winter is always long and cold here in Canada, so I decided to keep busy and build another Savage custom rifle. This latest one joins 2 others built in the past 2 winters. Here's a list of components used in all 3 with photos below.

At the forefront, this year's built:

Stock: blank European walnut, A5 style
Forend and grip cap: Cocobolo
Cheek piece: 2-way ajustable
Pad: Kick-eez
Anschutz rail type
3 pillars (aluminium)
Bedding: Devcon steel
Finish: Epoxy and Tru-oil
Action: Savage Target Dual port with tactical handle
Barrels: Brux 6mmBr 30" and 223 rem. 26" (SSS and Sinarms)
Base: Near Mfg 25 MOA
Rings: Nightforce titanium
Scope: Sightron 8-32x56mm LRTD 1/8"

In the middle:

Stock: blank European walnut, A5 style
Cheek piece: 2-way ajustable
Pad: Kick-eez
Anschutz rail type
2 pillars (aluminium)
Bedding: Devcon steel
Finish: Epoxy et Tru-oil
Action: Stevens LA with tactical handle
Trigger: SSS
Recoil lug: SSS
Barrels: Brux 260 AI 28" et 308 Rem 30"(Shilen and Savage)
Base: Near Mfg 30 MOA
Rings: Near Mfg Alphamount
Scope: Sightron 8-32x56mm LROA"

In the back:

Stock: SSS tactical
Cheek piece: ajustable
Pad: Kick-eez
Anschutz rail type

Action: Savage TargetRight port with tactical handle
Barrels: Brux 338 Edge 30" et 300 WM 30" (Sinarms and SSS)

Scope: S&B 5-25x56mm PMII Pl4F

So far, I've done 1 round robin ladder test at 600 yards with 6 loads (3 rounds each). I have a node around 46.4gr of H4350 (load 5 in the photo below) with Lapua Scenar 139gr and CCI BR2. Average speed was 2915 fps with ES of 18 and SD of 9.2. I'm still not completely satisfied and have decided to try the same test with 6 loads of H4831sc.

Temperature during the test averaged 28*F and wind was variable 3-7mph mostly @ 9 o'clock. Here's the target:

They were custom made by a machinist friend of mine. Here's a photo:

Very nice rigs.

I just bought my first Sightron scope for a 308 build I am in the middle of, cant wait to finish it up.

The stocks were carved from a blank with inletting assistance from a machinist friend with appropriate machinery. Here's a photo of the blank:
