I recently picked up a 116 in 338WM. Accutrigger, NOT-Accustock. Yes on bottom plate.

I am looking for a better recoil pad then the hard rubber one that came with the rifle. Ordered a Pachmyer from Cabelas that was suppose to fit....no go.

Would prefer either Pachmyer decel. or Limbsaver.

Anyone have a part number? Or recommendation

Thanks
Eric

I don't know what your stature is but you might consider a slip on pad over the factory one. I have a LimbSaver on my 300 Win Mag and it gives me the extra length I like to get back a bit from the scope on a heavy recoiling rifle. It ain't the prettiest setup in the world but it sure does work.

Do a search on limbsaver and you will get past posts with comments on them. I took my Slug Warrior to my gunsmith and asked for a Limbsaver and he would not put one on-they are hard to deal with he said. He installed a kikeze, which I love, but he had to make a wood adapter plate to fit inside the plastic stalk. Dale

You might check out Hi-Viz's E-Coil pad. I think they make a pre fit for the 116 series. They do not make one for the model 16 so I use their "grind to fit" pad. Also have to shape a wood plug to go in the butt stock to have something to screw it to.

every stock is close to the same, not exact. prefit may or may not fit good enough. are you picky?
