338 edge barrel

Hello all, I'm trying to find a 338 edge barrel for my small shank 111 action. Everyone I talk to will only do them for large shank. I have heard of a lot of people doing them on small shanks with no issues so where is everyone getting them. Please help I really want to get this build going.

You will get a lot different advice on this but this is what I found out when researching this......

People are using them with no problems it seems. Most that chamber it are machinist that started doing barrels. The six true gunsmiths I talked to said no.

Pac-Nor made mine and did a very good job. I am sure they know what their doing. I wonder about "the six true gunsmiths"
statement. It has been discussed here quite a bit.

I took a 7mm mag and put a 338 Edge barrel on it. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't a 7mm Savage based on a small shank. The barrel maker knew right off. Spec's show it to be a small shank.

I am sure the smith's are looking at it liability wise.
