Nice rifle isn't it? Glad to see you're happy with it. Just so you know, that brake is LOUD! Bill T.

I've had one of the new 10FLCP-K since mid December, I've fired allot of calibers above and below .308 with and without brakes and I don't think this new Savage with the brake is that loud at all, actually I think it's design is more of a combo of a break and flash, different experiences I guess.

I'd also recommend shooting it a bit, I had ideas about the stock and trigger right away but now all I'm going to change is the bolt handle and only because of how close it comes to my optics.

Once the Vortex PST 4-16 gets here I will have to shoot it awhile before I do anything to it. Maybe the Tac handle and the Karsten but that would be about it!

This is my Savage 110 FCP-K in .300 Win. Mag. It has been very accurate thus far and groups under .7 if I do my part. If I keep the bullets about .030 off the lands, she really tightens up with 190 gr. Sierra Matchkings. Bill T.

Do you have access to at least 600 meters ? I'll be getting one next month and want to know how it does at that distance.

First of all, let me say that I'm far from experienced. I only shot ten rounds due to all the cleaning. I need an adjustable cheek piece on this gun. I used a hunting glove on top oF the butt to give me a cheek weld(ish). I used another glove and my hand to rest the rear of the gun. The front has a Harris bipod on it. I was shooting prone.

Ok, brass tax, the gun shot great. I used the remove the bolt and look through the barrel technique of bore sighting. My first shot was an inch from the X, high and to the left. The next 3 shots were about 2.5 inches high and left, in a small cluster measuring .509 end to end on my digital calipers. I was just using some Winchester "big game" ammo. Is that a .201 group? I was pretty excited about the group, and didn't want to mess it up, so I pulled it down, and used another target. Pretty juvenile, I know. The next 6 shots measured .877. I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow.

If you are talking about "break in cleaning" you should read this;

A good quick read on what allot of us have known for years.

Get some good ammo and see what that stick can really do!

To anyone that has a 10 FCP or FLCP

Would you please post an image of the bottom of the gun in the trigger guard area?

I need to see where the bolt release button is located

Thanks

I found this on Google Images. Hope this helps to explain where the bolt release is.

I have read several articles going both ways. Maybe I'll stop my process.

Thanks

I guess aftermarket stocks will fit but a mag well is out of the question.

Not formally. My club range is out to 500 yards, so for anything longer I have to either go out into the desert, or travel to a range that has 1,000 yards, which for me involves going to Kingman, Arizona. So the desert is a better option. Just for the fun of it a took an old 20 gallon plastic garbage can and painted it with that bright orange contractors spray paint and set it out at what was .7 of a mile on my truck odometer. It was a dead calm morning, and the temp was in the upper 40's when I got to pulling the trigger.

It was quite easy to get consistent hits shooting prone with the bi pod, in the bed of my pickup with the tailgate down. These were 190 Grain Sierra Matchkings with a close to max load of IMR 4831. I've always been partial to 4831 in the .300 mag. Bill T.

That's awesome. Sadly no desert in MI for me to shoot at. I need to earn the trust of a farmer to let me shoot at his place.

I can't decide if I want the 10FP or the 10FCP-K. I mostly shoot at public range, I hear people will hate me because how loud the brake is...

I say get what you want. Thats what I did. I don't care what other people think of me. I have just as much right to be there as they do. And I am sure I am not the only one that shoots with a brake. Thats what ear plugs are for! Plus I think it looks cool!

I went to a different range (ours is being used by the Canadian Forces for the Olympics) and when I showed up with my 10FLCP-K this guy turns to me and says "I'll have to use more ear protection". I said "ok then you do that". I guess he was trying to tell me he didn't appreciate me taking the shooting stall next to his. Meanwhile up and down the range guys/gals are blasting away with all sorts of firearms so I said to this guy during one of the cease fires "was mine really that loud compared to the guy on the other side of you who was sighting in his .300 win mag, or the guy one stall down that was shooting my other favourite a Marlin 1895 in 45-70"?

He looks at me, looks down the range and says - "guess not".

one thing i would recommend for your rifle is to upgrade the trigger to a SSS Competition trigger.

Is that a new style barrel nut on those rifles? I do not see any notches for the wrench.

So anyways I bought this thing on Gunbroker. From a dealer that will stay unmentioned. I was taking it apart to clean it. And noticed the bolt face. I was told this was Brand New In the Box. Can somone tell me if this is normal?
