Hi guys

I was removing my BA110 out of its Pelican case the other day and noticed this grub screw was loose inside the case. I have checked the rifle externally and everything is tight and as it should be. As I have not taken the rifle apart yet, I wanted to see if any of you might recognize where this screw has come from before I disassemble it! Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks and best regards.

Can you take a picture of the end of the screw. I know I am stating the obvious but, that screw is designed to be tightened agains a thread to avoid damage...no?

G'day Stangfish, thanks for getting back to me. Yes, that is what I think as well but cannot figure out where it would be from!!
I sure appreciate any advice.
Thank you.

If I had to give it a shot I would say that it may have came from your optics.

Thanks alot for your input ABE. I had a very close look and accounted for all the screws in the optic/BORs area so no luck there. I appreciate the help if anyone else has any suggestions.
Thanks

I hate to say it, but it looks like something from inside the trigger group. Does it dry fire alright?

Take a look at your stock, especially the butt. I am think something around the monopod.

it looks like one of those screws from an ar-15 receiver. eliminates the play between upper and lower receiver.

It looks like an RCBS locking ring set screw.

Tats what I thought but mine are not that long. I do not recognize the impression on the end though. What else have you ever carried in that bag?

Check the pod on the butt. Looks like the one that locks the screw to hold it tight against the stock. Mine fell out one time. The pod should be really loose if it is.

Mr Majestic very close but tomme boy, you are right on the money, thanks a million, and everyone else who had a go, thankyou as well. I did not notice it being loose due to the monopod (Auccu - Shot BT-04)being a double ring locking model and the lock was firmly done up. It was only when I backed the locking ring off that I copied what tomme boy meant. Thanks again everyone, I am squared away now.
FWIW, it is called a 'nylon tipped locking set screw' !!

Didn't the old English Lion, Winston Churchil say "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, etc ?"

He sure did. I tried to put his name on the end of the quote but it would only let me enter 150 letters. We have a socialist/progressive government down here that over the last 7 years have just about brought this once great country to its knees. Only eight months to go until we will hopefully have a conservative government to clean up the mess these *******s have created.

And Back to the subject:

My mono pod (exact same one) fell off on a hunt cause of that "set" screw. Re traced my steps, found the thing at my last stand. Now have lock tite keepin it honest/installed.
