I just got my bear hunter. I checked the number on the bolt to the serial of the rifle. Inserted the bolt per the instructions but I seem to be hitting the internal box so I couldn't close the bolt if I had tried, which I didn't. I know better than forcing anything. Included are a couple pics. I scanned the manual and saw nothing. Any advice would be great.

The box is not installed correctly. Remove the barreled action from the stock. The magazine box is held in the back by an "L" bracket. The lip on the "L" bracket is not aligned with the slot on the back of the box. It will be a tight fit.

Will do. Thanks. Been away on business since I got the rifle so only had a few minutes to play with it. I appreciate the info.

You found a Bear Hunter? I'm jealous.
I've been looking for one for a while, only saw a couple on gunbroker.
Finally decided to build my own, same caliber as yours.

I had found an article on the correct way to tighten down the accu stock according to a savage engineer for ultimate accuracy (differed from the manual) anyone have a link to that as I can't find it again.
