I drilled out the plug to open up just the tip a bit deeper and after reloading another 30 rounds or so it's looking good. I'll still try the new polished plug when it comes but this will keep me from crushing tips for the time being.

In this case it's the very tip of these super pointy narrow bullets that I think push up further into the plug than any normal bullet would.

I sent in a question to RCBS last night and they are already are sending me out a polished plug for free. If that doesn't work then I will send them 3 sample bullets and they will send me a custom plug for 24.95. Exceptional customer service at RCBS for sure. In the meantime I drilled my plug out to make it slightly deeper and will tell you the results in about an hour when I start another batch :)

Lookin pretty good. Ive got a stevens in 223 as well but staggered that Im slowly speading some extra money on.

Kind of sucks up in canada sometimes for buying things. Like Im looking at the tacticool for mine but they cant ship them up here because the word tacticool is a big bad scary word.

Apparently my barrel came off a Savage 10 fp-sr suppressor ready model with a 1/2 - 28 (223) threading. It's a 22 inch barrel with 1 in 9 twist. I'm noting this more for my records to keep notes in the event I want to pickup a flash suppressor/brake.

On vacation now in Oahu and there is a cool free city owned range. Koko Head just out of Honolulu. I'll be back in a couple of days to test this thing out, Picking up a Harbor Freight ultrasonic cleaner to clean my brass :)

Check this out. Limit just upped to 500. Might take a while for everyone to learn though. https://s3.amazonaws.com/public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2013-16152.pdf

Well it's a shooter. Definitely inside of 1 moa with leftover 75 gr Berger vld's 20 gr H4895 COAL 2.26. I'll take some pics of the groupings next pass. The range was packed today and some dude fragged my target after hitting the metal plates hanging next to it.

My last 3 shots were about .75 with 2 oblong in the same hole. Still deciding if I'm going to shoot 75 gr AMAX or 60 gr VMAX for the bulk of my shooting. Both are listed as temporarily suspended on Hornady's website.

The Warne Maxima med height #201M Steel rings came in. I'll bolt them on and the the rifle back out this weekend.

In the meantime I tried the magic marker on bullet and chambered some rounds to find my max coal for this rifle. I should probably buy a Hornady OAL gauge but thought I'd try this first.

75gr AMAX came up to the following 5 measurements. 2.484, 2.490, 2.496, 2.497, 2.499
75 gr Berger VLD came out to 2.443, 2.436, 2.442, 2.442, 2.435

Not sure who tried this method but I'm wondering if I should take the average of all 5 measurements as max and then back off 0.20-0.30 off as my what I'll load for these bullets.

I'm also not sure about just loading to max mag length so I can still feed them rather than saami or .025 off the lands. Saami seems generic, .025 under max on the AMAX will be single feed whereas mag length is 2.452. Maybe all try all to see what the difference is on my patterns.

Hey I posted a youtube video with the rifle and workups of 75 bthp with H4895 and comparisons to match ammo. I shoots .3 moa 5 shot groups :)

I'll have more videos soon with my N133 and H4895 workups of 50 and 55 gr Hornady that also shot sub moa in the next couple of days.
