I just purchased my first Savage (10FP .223) today, now I'm looking for scope mounts and rings. I have a Mueller 3-10x44 TAC II that I want to mount on the rifle and want to keep the scope as low as possible. Can anyone give me some input on whats the best combo of mounts and rings to use.

I used an EGW 20moa base with Burris XTR low rings and am very happy with my choice. Depending on your scope and shooting distance, you may be able to get away with a 0moa base.

My favorite combo is a EGW 1 piece base bedded of course, and a set of medium Weaver tactical picatny 6 hole rings.

I mounted a Sightron 50mm 6x24 on an 10 FCP-k in 223 with one piece weaver base and low 6 screw weaver tactical rings, low. The objective end of scope is 1/16 off barrel. That would manage a 44 with no problem. Bought from Midway, #973274 and #519551. This was for 30mm rings. You didn't adddress that.

Mine both use Farrell bases and Leupold QrW rings.

1 piece weaver or egw is fine, I went with weaver, watch out for the front screw, it will be TOO long most likely, grind it down pls,

Hi guys I think I'm going to go with a the Burris two piece base (part # 410615) and Weaver 30mm Six Hole Tactical Low Ring. I also decided to pickup a Mueller APT 4.5-14x40 w/ 30mm tube.
