No update yet...its been crazy cold and snowy in NE ohio, so havent been able to get out yet! I'm hoping tomorrow I'll be able to get some time in, though!

Nice rig !!! Might need a longer guitar case though. ;) Just out of curiosity where in N.E. Ohio is there a range long enough to let the legs out on that darling ( short of Camp Perry) ?? Was looking at the 110BA myself but with only a 200 yard range it's like driving a Ferrari in the parking lot.

US 869 at 104 grains. It is putting them in the same hole. I went with this powder for a little less pressure and a little more velocity. The rounds barely fit the magazine.

I am working on a coupe Nosler Accubond loads right now and will be testing them next week. Made the mistake of taking a friend to the range who whined the whole time. They are not as accurate as the bergers.

Accubond 250 grain at 108 grains US869. Unacceptable accuracy

300 grain Accubond at 104 grains of US 869. Not bad but needs improvement before I produce a bunch of these.

this probably has been covered when they first came out, but are these 338lapua rifles built on a standard savage large shank action? Or has there been some strengthening done. Also, any changes required to the bolt besides accomodating the case head size?

Well, I guess you,ll have to pull your acoustic out, play some riffs on the street corner and make "alittle" extra $$ to feed your new toy....least it,ll help a? lolo

One reason for your poor accuracy is us869. Try retumbo, rl25, or h1000. US869 is too show burning and extremely temp sensitive. You may also want to stretch your zero out to 300 years or so. A lot of what you are seeing is because the bullet may not have fully stabilized or "gone to sleep" at 100 yards.

I have a 111 LRH 338, love it. I want to get the FCP too. Or I might rebarrel and stock this 111. No luck with any 300 grain bullets but the Hornady 285's are working fine (100 yard target):

The majority of savage 110 338lm owners are having the sticky bolt issue. The chambers are tight on these savage 338's for some reason. Headspace has also been found to be too tight. Might want to have it rechecked.

I had a huge problem with Hornady cases sticking in both my BA and 111, didn't matter if I used the 250's or 285's. Tried a box of S&B 250's and problem went away, but got horrible patterns, almost 5' groups @ 300. Moved to the HSM 300's and group's went back to 1/2' @ 300. I am waiting on one last part, then I can start my learning process of loading my own. I will be using Lapua brass, Berger 300's and H1000 powder.

For the accuracy and velocity these rifles are getting...I'll deal with the tight chamber in my reloading practices. Much rather have a tight chamber than the sloppy stuff that normally is in production rifles.

Best my 110ba shot was 1.5 MOA. Anything above about 88gr retumbo resulted in bolt lift problems regardless of brass used. Sometimes so bad that i had to tap the brass out with a toys through the muzzle. No pressure signs on the brass, either.
No thanks.

I gues I've had better luck than you.....I've just started with Lapua brass and 285gr HPBT. 93 and 94 gr of Retumbo and my groups are .202 and .213 respectively.
As long as the chamber is polished smooth and shoulders are bumped back .002 extraction shouldn't be a problem.
