Action questions / Stagger and center feed

Trying to get a handle on something; can any action be used for a center feed or stagger magazine? If I have an action can I make it work with either configuration as long as I have the correct stock and magazine parts?

No, the mag openings are different.

A stagger feed has slots for the magazine tabs. Stagger feed magazine attaches to the action.

Center feed magazines attach to the stock. The mag opening is longer eliminating the ability for it to hold a magazine.

I'm using a CF mag in my old SF 308
needed the exstra mag lenth to reach the lands
it can be done
the CF mag is held in correct position by the stock
it just has to be centered corectly in a SF stock
where as SF mags are held in correct position by being attached to the receiver
