I was looking at a bunch of barrels from diff websites and what they had in stock. I'm kinda confused. Some listed a .223 rem and some .223 ackley and some .233 rem/ackley. I have a standard 111 .223 rem. Are The barrels the same? I'm looking at the mcgowen stock list and its perfect for what I want but it says ackley. Not rem.... sorry, newbee queston,.

223 Ackley Improved is a different chamber than a 223 Remington.

223 Remington ackley improved is a custom chamber based on the 223 Remington

the case has minimal body taper and a shoulder angle change to 40 degrees. you shoot 223 Remington in the ackley chamber to form the brass

I think what he is asking is there a 223 ackley and a 223 Remington ackley. From my understanding, no. Just the way different company's word it. They could make that more simple.
