budget 200$ scope?

anyone got idea of a nice mildot scope for the 200$ mark? 30-06 and i hunt woods and target shoot at 100-350 yards

I like the sfwa ss. 10x42. $299. From all the reviews I read it was either spend a grand or the ss.

Noticed that you are hunting in the woods -- which leads me to suggest a lower powered variable 2-7x, 2.5-10x, etc. Might look at the various Burris, Nikon, Bushnell, Vortex scopes at the SWFA web site. Also check SWFA's closeouts on their Sightron page. You may have to consider a "ballistic dot" instead of a "mildot" if you are looking at $200 level hunting scopes.

I have fixed power, 10x scopes on a couple rifles that I don't use in the woods, and like them, but have a 2.5-8x on my hunting rifle. Have used the 2.5-8x out to 550 yards a few times.

Sightron has a 3-9x40 mil-dot that can be found for less than $150.

Get a nikon! The low grade is prostaff series than buckmaster is mid grade and monarch which is high grade. I have a Buckmaster 4.5-14x40 its a very very nice scope its $350 i got mine on sale for $250 but since you want something under 200 than get a nikon prostaff 4-12x40 its amazingly clear its only $199 for a BDC recticle on opticsplanet.

I will agree with the Nikon. I really like the 4-12x40 model with BDC. Has enough power if you want it and very clear and bright. They even come with target turret knobs as well if you prefer the dial system like myself.

Check Burris Fullfield ii. Great optics. I think better than the Pro Staff. I have both too. 2-7 for $140 with a lifetime warranty and a ballistic plex reticle. Similar to Nixon BDC.

Pentax pioneer, which is the same scope as the Burris fullfield. The pentax gameseekerII is every bit as clear as the prostaff (I have both). The swift premier should fall in there also

For whatever its worth, I just upgraded all four of my Savages which had the Bushnell Banner 4-12x AO scopes. I wanted 4-12's on all, BDC reticle, and durability with reasonably good optics , all for as close to $200 as I could get. So, I spent lots of time looking at and comparing scopes. I looked at the following:

Nikon Prostaff 4-12x BDC
Nikon Buckmaster 4-12x BDC
Redfield Revenge 4-12x accurange
Vortex Diamondback 4-12x BDC
Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x BDC

Optics-wise, it was pretty much a four way tie between both Nikons, the Diamondback, and the Redfield. I did not see a difference between the two Nikons. The Diamondback, to me, is barely (and I mean barely) a sliver better, optically, than the others. But, very hard to tell. I was surprised by the clarity of the Redfield's optics. The new Crossfire II is not quite as bright as the others, but, still pretty good. My only complaint, with the Diamondback, is that its a short scope. I find myself pushing my neck forward, on my .243, to get full view and I do have the Weaver extension base. As for the Redfield, my only complaint is the focusing ring on all of them I looked through, was a touch too hard to turn. One other scope, I wanted to check out, but, didn't was the Weaver Kaspa 3-12x.
Anyway, I ended up with three Prostaffs and one Diamondback.

Give one of these a try and you won't be dissappointed. I've had pretty much every brand of scope out there up to around $1,800 and for the dollar this is my favorite scope. You'll be amazed at the quality of this glass.

It's what I used when I was learning long range. I used it with my 112 FLVSS in 300win way past 1k.
