Hey guys I just got back from a ride up to the Mifflin Co. Range where we are having our shoot. It is nice and that 1025 yd. target is a looong way out there. They have targets from 25 yds. to 1025yds. There were several young guys shooting when I got there, three shooting 308 's and one shooting an AR 15 in 223. They were doing pretty good. I think anyone that doesn't go to the shoot is going to be sorry.

Hey guys I am sorry to say but I am going to have to pass this year, I have not worked since last fall, and being self employed was not eligible for 99 weeks of unemployment benefits, so needless to say things have been thin, not to mention all the stuff I should not have bought but did, anyway a small job has come up and I am going to have to take it and give it my full attention, so thanks for they invite and hope you all enjoy yourselves,

Sorry to hear that, I mean that you cannot come to the shoot, not that you got a job. Maybe next year ?

I'm sure someone will have something that you can pull the trigger on Ed.

Ok, I will plan to get there around 9. Do you need us to bring anything?

I believe we are now sitting around 18 or so shooters attending. Actually this works pretty good cause we can all spread out.

I will need people to bring staple guns and staples for the targets. If you have targets you can bring them too. Also we will need some guys to bring coolers and drinks, and maybe some snack food(chips, pretzels, etc).

Anything else anyone can think of post it up.

What do we need for 1K targets Mike? I can bring a staple gun.

Vince when I was up there last week they were shooting steel and it looked like they leave them out.

I also have a couple of staple guns I can bring, ( may be the only thing I can hit with. )

There is a manhole cover up there if you just want to dust something. For paper targets, a lot of people put up silhouettes with a 5-6" bright orange sticker in the middle.

I week to go... I wish I had something ready to shoot at that distance. I'll probably brig a couple medium range rigs and see if I cant lob a couple in there at 1000 with my 25-06 BVSS.
Spent the whole morning fixing up our shower in the main bath. Maybe tomorrow I can ram up a few rounds. ha-ha... a year almost to prepare and I'm no where near ready as usual. I cant wait to see some of these long range Savages stretch their legs!

Does the address work on GPS? Sorry if it already was mentioned.

I have no clue about your GPS. I tried it with mine and got close but no cigar. The sign for the road is only about 2" tall though. Once on Ferguson Valley Rd, look for Sand Ridge Rd, the dirt drive to the range is between the church and parking lot on the other side of the Ferguson Valley Rd. it may be easier to put in Sand Ridge intersection as your GPS target and go from there. Here is the map/directions link from the website.

I wish I could go.

ETA: the large pond can nearly be spit across, so once through the gate, make the left immediately following the only pond you see.

" may be the only thing I can hit with.", now that right there made me laugh Gordon. It'll be fun to try, just got to figure you are going to dump most of your rounds just trying to walk it on target. We'll ahve some fun though. All I have for sure is a 6brx to bring, and am working hard to try and get a 6.5x47 Lapua worked up. Have 22brx that I would love to try and get ready, but don't see that happening.

Vince I have my 6BR and I don't know if I will bring my 243 or my 25-06 BVSS. I haven't shot the BVSS very much, and the 243 I have been shooting 65gr Hornady in and I don't know if they will be very good for 1000 yds.

Good thing it is just us up there. We can make fools of our selves and have a good time doing it.
