j goes into 2014 per savage and my rifle

You will notice that L and M were skipped as letter prefixes. L was likely skipped as it could be easily misidentified as an "I" or "1". M had previously been used exclusively for the Savage 10ML and 10ML-II muzzleloaders.


Any assistance greatly appreciated! I'm not exactly sure when I bought this rifle (new) but I'm thinking it was around 1997

Got my granddads 110 recently and it’s F470 I’m assuming that means it’s pre 95
