What type of epoxy filler is good for finishing a moneysaver stock?

Is plain spray-on primer good for a base coat?

Nitro stan is a good filler for pin holes, scratches and the like. Bondo thinned with a little solvent works well for larger areas, seam mismatch etc. I wanted my 2 to last so I used Duracoat primer and finish products.

I used bondo and a plastikote stone fleck paint straight on to the scuffed stock.
