Hello everyone. Noob here, I'm thinking of building a 6br on on the target action. This will be my first build so any tidbits of information is greatly appreciated.
Savage target action
cbi 28" 8 twist for 105grns.
Varmint thumbhole stock from stockys

I know there's much more but this will give y'all what's on my mind. Thanks!

What do you plan to use the rifle for?

Shooting on the weekend. A little coyote hunting.

Looks like you need a recoil lug,and am assuming you have an accutrigger. You are going to need a go gage, reciever wrench, barrel nut wrench and access to a vise.I would pillar bed your action in your new stock also. Let us know what you have and dont have.Jim Briggs is the man to talk to for more of your needs 1-763-682-4296.You will like this combination,it should be a real shooter.I would invest in a box of lapua brass as it can almost outlast the rifle through many reloadings using a bushing die so as to avoid oversizing the brass.

Thanks Jon! My thoughts exactly. Correct me if I'm wrong, i was assuming if I bought the action from Jim it would be coming with the trigger and recoil lug???

It will have the trigger, not sure on the nut and lug though.

I have the 6BR in a 28" 8 twist CBI barrel. Its probably my best shooting barrel, during barrel break in I shot a couple of 5 shot groups that were under .330" at 100 yards. You will like it.

Ok thanks boots! Does prefit mean its ready to be installed? No reamer needed? I'm also assuming this means it would be chambered for no-turn neck. Correct?

If it's the "target" action it should have the "target" accutrigger with the red blade.Very nice for a factory trigger.

Prefit does mean that it is ready to be installed, no reaming required.I believe all the CBI chambers are no turn necks, but give Jim Briggs at Northland a call to confirm, if anyone would know for sure it will be him.

If you buy the action from Jim it will come with the trigger, recoil lug and barrel nut. I also think it comes with trigger guard.
