Anybody have a 26" or 28' 1-12" twist barrel? Just trying to find out what your favorite load data is for the gun!

Thanks,

There is a lot of load data on the internet.
Wish I could help you out but I hunt with mine so I dont have any target loads
except for a 110 gr Vmax plinker.

Down a bit is a list of favorite loads from 6mmBR.

Already have done this, I am shooting 175gr Bergers in the Broughton barrel hopfully trying to perfect a load. It's not the same as the FCP!

Suprisingly, 168SMK drives nails out of the Broughton, I have a load for this.

I would like to get the same results from 175 Bergers. Getting close, just not there and still looking for any suggestions.

I just might have to use the 168SMK @ 600.

I have a 26" 1 in 12" 308, its the standard barrel on the H-S Precision HTR in 308, and was designed to shoot 168g SMKs at .500 or less, and it does. I load it with 168g SMKs and 44.5g of Varget, Fed GM210M primers in Lapua brass for 2710 fps. And its a tack driver, mine shoots in the .2 to .4s at 100.
Give it a try, its the same load as Federal 168g GM Match.
Mike.

This gun is a tack driver with 168smk's. The red target I am shooting at is not much bigger than the 308 bullet itself, FYI.

So far this is my best with 168SMK's, I haven't got bergers to shoot like this, but I have a 100 more loaded and ready to shoot. About 20 different loads, all Bergers, CCI's, Varget and some RL15!

I am trying 155.5, 175, and 190's! Suprisingly 190's are shooting pretty good. I might have to use those for windy days and the 168's for calm days!

Berger 190's on the right, I know it's a bad picture, but I know I can work with this bullet and tighten it up!

Load info is at the top, IMR4064, WLR primers, both groups, 5 shots

41.5gr on left, 42.0 on right
