Is anyone using this brass with good results?

The reason I am asking is because a guy gave me close to
1000 pieces of it,and I noticed the flash holes look to be
kind of oblong...Is this normal? I know lots of people shoot
it in match's. I just thought it odd it was like this..All of them are.?

LOL Wonder if you can index them for wind? Do you uniform your flash holes? Or dose the oblong hole appear to go all the way through?

yes the hole goes all the way thru...I wonder if this was done for a reason? Like I said they all have the oblong flash hole....I even looked at them with a magnifing glass..Small oblong hole

That sounds a lot like PPU brass. I get the impression they punch that hole and the tooling they do it with is way past worn out, making the egged out holes.

well it doesn't seem to have any effect on the accuracy.

Yeah, no experience here with .223 yet,, I've gotta get me a .223 bolt face but can't find one anywhere. Anyone have any ideas where to get one?

Oh John, how does that "American Beauty" shoot? Need to see some target pics!

Dan-It shoots great, but the stock is too small for my big frame..Gonna put it on a bell and carlson sometime...

Very. very good. Ace I read your thread on the Hide and I think you should just stick with the .223 for most the season being that .308 is over kill for our kind of shooting UNLESS it is really windy during a match. I shoot .308 cause it's all I have for heavy barrel's at the moment. I saw that Greg L. posted and I don't think that Dan S. could do much more on that gun of yours to improve the accuracy. And I think your capable enough to go through all the obvious things of the rifle for extreme accuracy, (floated barrel, bedded stock, etc.) I believe that precision accuracy is in the barrel, the reloading, and the shooter. Don't get my wrong though, I'm sure Dan S. could do great thing's for the rifle like maybe time an true the action or blue print everything but the fun of the Savages is the good felling that you did everything yourself.

Best regards
Dan
