Savage 340 30-30

Does anyone know if it is possible to rebarrel the 340 and change it to a 223? Would it be worth it?

factory did. You have the challenge of finding an obsolete bolt to do yours.

I have done this twice. Big job, lots of different parts besides the barrel: New bolt or bolt head head, extraction and ejection systems, magazines, magazine guides. My advice: don't do it unless you have lots of time and money to spare.
