Savage Hog Hunter into an Accustock?

Can I fit a Savage Hog Hunter into an Accustock? I called Savage CS and was told that due to the recoil lug difference, it won't fit. Has anyone tried? I thought any SA with 4.4" spacing would work.

Buy an accustock recoil lug from Savage, Midway, whomever.
Remove your current barrel and recoil lug.
Replace with accustock recoil lug.
Headspace, tighten, insert into accustock and go shoot.
