I came up with a stock off of a supposed Model 12. It is a black synthetic but it seems way sturdier, like WAY sturdier than the Tupperware stocks I have seen. It also has brass pillars and a factory varmint barrel channel. can anyone give me any insight?

I cant seem to find out what makes it different, does it have aluminum or just a different plastic?

it is thicker in the forearm area to allow for the varmint barrel channel, so it just naturally makes it a bit stiffer.

Like Pdog said. Thicker Plastic and the wider forend adds some rigidity to it also. No aluminum, just pillars. FWIW, my Savage 12FV in 308 shoots in the .3 to .4" range at 100yds and still wears the stock it was born with. It is the only Savage I own that, other than adjusting the accu-trigger, is just as it left production line.

I wish they made that exact same stock for Long actions. I'd be in for a couple.
