I've just installed a SAV-1 Rifle Basix on my 110ba in 338. Everything seems tuned perfectly.......until I re assemble it. The safety works just fine until I put the chassis on. With the bolt up I can get the safety on. When I close the bolt the safety slides forward, even if I put some resistance on it.

Words of wisdom, thoughts & ideas please.

Thanks

Did you get the dvd with it,it sounds like it is not adjuted right.I would call rifle basix and pose the question right to him.He is a nice guy and very helpful.

If I understand what's happening it will.

If the safety is in the full rearward position (Safe On - Bolt Locked) it will automatically move it to the middle "Safe on - Bolt Unlocked" position when the bolt is rotated closed and locked. If you look at the bolt handle on the underside where it fits over the bolt body you see a half round cut. When the bolt is closed it cams the safety bar forward to the middle position.

I just can't seem to figure it out. Works great until I put the chassis back on. I'm trying to figure out of somehow the chassis is putting pressure on the trigger, safety or bolt release.

Bush, are you calling the stock a chassis? If trigger is working O.K. out of stock, check to see if something is binding when in stock. Double check everything. Was trigger bracket removed to install ? If so check tab on rear is not below receiver, it fits between button & receiver.

Figured it out. The safety screw was making contact with the rear of the inside of the trigger guard area. Dremel solved by removing a bit if material.
