What would be a good longrange rnd. For .243 400+yrds. For under 30 dollars a box. Im not to worried about penetration because it will be for target and groundhogs

Factory ammo can only be so accurate.

If you start reloading, you will see the most potential out of your rifle without killing your wallet.

What's your definition of "long range?"

As for factory ammo and accuracy, you can easily make it a lot more accurate by purchasing yourself a RCBS Case Master Gauging Tool (or similar) and using it to measure bullet runout (how straight/square it's seated in the case). Then, using the neck of a fired case, you can tweak the bullet as needed to straighten it so each has 0.000" run-out. It's a tedious process, but if you want accuracy and don't reload it's the best thing you can do to shrink your groups.

Musta missed that, sorry. For that range you really don't need anything special - find what factory load(s) shoots best in your gun at 100 and 200 and that same accuracy will carry right out to 400 yards accordingly. Every gun is going to have it's own preference and since you are dealing with factory ammo you're just going to have to experiment to find what it prefers.
