Hinged floor plate opens by itself

I have a one year old model 116 in .30WSM with the hinged floor plate.
When shooting, more often than not, the floor plate opens dumping my cartridges on the shooting bench or ground.
What should I do to fix this? It seems to lock correctly but opens during recoil.

Switch to a blind mag? :)

The latch is spring loaded so the spring is the first thing I'd look at, then I'd check/modify the engagement on the latch and floorplate.

The magazine is not latched 100%. To fix it, place a shim washer of .010-.020" between the magazine frame and the stock, on the front action screw. This will lower the mag frame slightly to give enough clearance for the magazine to latch all the way.
