Any of the barrel manufacturers will make you what ever you want.

A standard twist barrel should handle that bullet weight as well.

i have 2 243 they wont shoot anything lighter than a 85 gr. bullet. my goal is to shoot the 70 gr. sierra blitz kings, and maybe the 55s also.

I have a normal (for Savage) 1:9.25 and a Shilen 1:8. Both shoot every bullet that I've fed them extremely well all the way down to 55gn BlitzKings and Ballistic Tips. It's the barrel and the load, not the twist that makes an accurate shooter.

I have a criterion 26" heavy sporter that shoots everything from 55-105gr like they are the same load. Very accurate barrel.

Just made two loads for a friend, he claimed his .243 would not shoot anything under 100gr core lokt bullets. he now shoots 85gr sierra and 58gr v-max that I reload. A standard savage .243 or stevens will bughole 58gr bullets, never seen one that wouldn't.

Every Savage/Stevens 243 barrel (I think it's 4 now) that I've tried has shot the 70g Nosler very well. Currently have a Sin-Arms 1:12 twist 6mm Remington that doesn't care for them....shoots the now discontinued 58g Barnes VLC extremely well though. Don't know if it's twist related or not but I would stick with a standard or even a 10 twist if you really want something different.

well my remington 700 refuses to group any 55s very well.its an older 700 not sure of the twist. it will put 100 gr. bullets in the same hole.my browning bbr will shoot 70 -90 gr. bullets very well.my idea is i have a savage axis that i want to rebarell to 243. its a 22-250. i have 2 22-250s already so i was going to make this axis a light weight varmint rig,as i have a couple of savage bctss models and a few bvss, they are a little heavy to pack around.
