I did a little search but didn't find anything here initially -

Can anyone recommend a possible source for replacement parts for an early Savage Model 12 (non-Accutrigger) ? Mine has the 2 action screws and the trigger guard screw all buggered up from a previous owner and I would love to replace them....tried the local hardware store. Curiously these are phillips head type, although I understand that newer models use socket head screws.

Any help would be appreciated.

I would check with Savage theirself...Serial number from gun and they should have everything you need...No more searching around...

If not then you can check Brownells...But I would go right to the source first....Good luck..

That's a good plan! I guess I had just discounted them because the serial number didn't or wouldn't work in their parts lookup system online.

Mcmaster-Carr is a great place. Also, http://www.fastenal.com has about a zillion little parts and stuff.

Thanks for all the good suggestions. It also looks like Midway has a lot of that.

The local Lowe's has most of what you need, if you know the thread size.
