Ordered a stainless Axis in 223 the other day just to play with. The plain rifle wasn't available so I sprung for the additional $40 to get the XP package with the cheapo Bushnell scope. Took it to the range today and all I can say is UNFREAKINBELIEVABLE! This is the most accurate rifle I've ever owned. I currently have, among others, a .308 Savage Precision Carbine and a Ruger 223 Tactical Carbine and this little pencil barreled low end throw away will shoot rings around either of the heavy barreled rifles. I could have bought nearly SIX Axis rifles for what I've got in the Precision Carbine and the Tactical Carbine and that's before I add the scopes! After firing a hodgepodge of about 20 assorted rounds at 100 yards just to warm it up and foul it, I put a fresh target at 200 yards. The wind was howling and I really didn't expect much but when I retrieved the target I was flabbergasted. The 5 shot group measured well under MOA at 1.300" with 4 of the 5 going into less than 1/2 MOA! This is with the bone stock 7-8 pound trigger too. I'm now thoroughly disgusted with my expensive target rifles since I could have bought TWO Axis rifles for just what the scope cost on my Precision Carbine. Can't wait to put a Rifle Basix trigger in this gun. There is NO LONGER ANY REASON to spend any more than $370 for a gun and scope. Now to get one in .308 and get rid of the Precision Carbine!

Yup- same experience i have with my 2. I opted to just buy the guns and add better quality mounts and scopes and a lighter trigger spring. Took a nice buck with the .30-06 this fall and several vermin with the .223 last summer.

Wait until the guys with $2500 Remingtons look at it & chuckle.....

Don't forget to put your targets where everyone can see them.

My 25.06 is so accurate I don't even shoot it much anymore. it's too boring.

And no, you can't have it.

i regularly piss richies off at the range (read 2k dollar autoloaders, rem 700 sps, etc) by shooting under an inch at 200 yds with my 243 axis, using 58gr molys, 100 gr power shoks, 80gr rem core lokts...it indiscriminately abuses targets. a stock company seriously needs to get behind these guns, i have a total of 400 bucks into my camo axis xp and all i want is a different stock now.
