Does anyone make a savage pre-fit barrel in 8mm-06 ?

Don't know if you're set on 8mm but Jim has 338-06 barrels.

Yea, at this point I don't want to go that much bigger. Maybe later gun.
Looks like Pac Nor could make it if I can get all their ordering figured out.

I urge you to investigate 338-06 before making the plunge to an 8mm Pac Nor barrel. Here's why: 1) the bullets available are far more varied in 338 than in 8 mm, and 2) the 338-06 throat size is the "sweet spot" in that cartridge's efficiency, surpassing both the 8mm and the 35 Whelen on either side of it. My 338-06 is barrelled with a 24" Shaw barrel kit (Midway or Brownells, $200 including wrench and go, no-go gages) and shoots 200 gr bullets at 2900 fps, 225 gr bullets at 2750 fps, three rounds touching at 100 yds. It's a SAAMI-approved cartridge, whereas the 8mm-06 is essentially a relic cartridge invented to use war-surplus 8mm Mausers by rechambering them. Good luck!

Shaw also chambers for 8mm-06, and 4D does as well.

Thanks
Decided to go smaller (6.5-06) before I go bigger.
