My memory and everything I can find says it was 1:10. I am going to go pick up one tomorrow morning and if it's any slower than 1:10 I will have to rip it apart and go a different direction with the rifle. I am not a fan of the .223 to begin with, it's like wet toilet paper after you have eaten too many hot wings. Anything the .223 will do, any of my .22-250's will do better. I am set up to load .223 from back in the day when I was into the AR platform so that is a plus. Heck I even have some 55gr nosler BT's loaded with varget too. I really just want to do a tension barrel .300 WSM on the action but I may have to try the pencil barrel .223 and see how it does.

The Stevens 223 is a 9 twist according to Savage. It is still listed on their website.
