I want to place a 20" 10fp into a McMillan HTG (M40a1) stock; however, I have never really seen a savage in that stock. Everyone always uses Rem 700 actions to copy the old sniper rifles. I really like the stock for a hunting rifle. Does anyone have pics from the side, rear and front showing all the "lines" of the stock with a savage action? Does anyone have experience with this action and stock? I would greatly appreciate any possible information and/or pics. Thanks.

I built a poor mans faux M40A1 but I used a long action 110 since that was all I had. Turned out nice. I'll try to post some pics tonight.

If you build one and use an HTG I recommend a scope that you can mount low, the HTG stock has lots of drop. Also if your're using the rifle for hunting and plan on using a lighter contour barrel, the stock may look a little goofy.

I will be using a 6x42 scope with the factory 10fp barrel (cut down to 20").

I posted a picture of my 10FLP with it McMillan HTG in the Picture Post forum. It's a great stock and can be ordered with an adjustable comb if needed. Here's the link:
