I had to work over the weekend here in Arkansas, so my brother asked if he could take my nine year old son on a hunt. He doesn't have kids of his own, but really loves to take kids hunting. We had talked earlier in the year about him being ready to go. I agreed, the boy was ecstatic about going for the first time, and all was good.
We agreed to let him whack a doe or a little buck, but this guy is what walked out. Perfect quartering away shot at about 70 yards with a CVA scout compact in 243. All that target practice to get ready for this day payed off!

The little Guy is gonna make me have to step up my game! His deer was almost as big as mine! The antlers look smaller in the pic cause that deer is so freaking big. He is very proud and is now waiting to get his skull back from the cleaner.

Very nice! His first could be his best ever and there'd be no shame.

That is great! How hard will it be for him to top that one? That needs mounting....

Thanks for your comments guys. He wanted to get it done as a European cause he likes some of the mounts I have. I will post another pic of him one day when we get it back.
