Savage 112 300 rum

I recently bought a 300 rum. I started loading for it using new remington brass. The problem i am having is when loading the rifle it seems I have to put quite a bit of force to get the rounds down into the mag box. It almost seems to me that the feed lips are to close together. Anyone ever experience this?

That's the way it is with a centerfeed action. Nothing wrong just push straight down to load.
Takes a little getting used to.

Don't you mean a staggerfeed action? I wasn't aware that Savage made any RUM's since they've gone to centerfeed actions.
