Has anyone actually seen one of these in person? All I can find on line are just computer images that are generic and don't tell me what I need to know. I found one on Gunbroker that has actual photos but they're blurry so I can't tell for sure. I was going to call Savage today but unfortunately, they close before I get home. Surely someone has seen one.

The .375 Ruger is made to fit in a long action rifle so I don't think you will see anything exterior. The magazine may hold one less round though as they are larger in dia. than a .30-06.

I built one on a long action......originally a 270 that holds one in the chamber and 2 in the mag if that helps.

BTW.....it's sweet too!

There's a Savage factory show here in town this weekend. What do you need to know?

What shank size it is. The actual photo I saw of one on Gunbroker was a little blurry but I swear it looked like a large shank. If they are, I'll be getting one. If you see one and can let me know I'd greatly appreciate it!

Here's the one on Gunbroker. If you copy the pictures to your computer and zoom in on it you can really see the lines where the front of the nut ends and where the shank steps down. Or at least that's the way it looks to me.

Ok, I'll ask, but I'd think it would be quicker to just call Savage. And I bet it's small - I have a 116 .375H&H and it's small shank.

I finally was able to get through to Bud's Gunshop and to Savage. The 375 Ruger models are large shanks so I'll be ordering one very soon. I was betting they were because the Ruger case has a larger diameter than your 375 H&H. They did confirm today that they are large shanks.

Cool, thanks for the info! Enjoy your .375. I took my Alaskan Guide out of the plastic stock and put it in a Boyd's Prairie Hunter - very happy with the result.

Sweet. Which model? What did you think of it?

It was the Alaskan. It looks alot like my brother-in laws Ruger Alaskan. The iron sites are really tall. Other than that, it was a Savage what more is there to say.

I had just wondered if you noticed the barrel shank size or not. I like the looks of the Alaskan but wanted a longer barrel and the DBM so I ordered the FCSS model. I would guess it will be here in about a week or so.
